A rare find from a local estate, a finely detailed
lacquer chest on stand. It was made by a master craftsman.
It probably dates back to the 1970's. The primary lacquer
color is ivory with touches of soft pastel colors and
black animal medallion trim. The chest is in excellent
vintage conditon, no peeling or cracking of the paint,
just a few very tiny, light scruffs mostly on the edge
of the lid.
There is a key taped to the bottom on the chest. I
tried it and couldn't get it to turn, but it may need
a little lubricant in the lock. I have included plenty
of images, for you can get a good look at this beautiful
example of Mexican lacquer work. It is a nice size,
not too large, but big enough to be noticed. It can
sit on a table or buffet for display. The chest measures
16" long by 9 3/8" tall by 9 1/4" wide.
The stand measures 16 1/2" long by 6" tall
by 9 1/2" wide.
The item will ship at $30.oo which included oversize
