Beautiful ornate silver bracelet with large carved
abalone shell face in the Mayan style so popular in
the 1940's and 50's. There is a silver mark on the clasp
that is hard to read. I think the mark is an intertwined
"JMS" which is the mark of Jose Marmolejos
who was a silversmith in Mexico City in the 1950's.
You can make out the word Mexico and according to my
silver mark book, the 925 mark would be there too and
I am sure it is, just not clear. Who ever made it, it
stands out with fine workship. It is in excellent vintage
condition and ready to wear. It measures 2 3/8"
tall at the center of the bracelet and is 6 1/2"
around when closed.
