These old trays are carved from one piece of wood, then an enamel finish is applied and the brightly painted flower designs are added. This one is in fair condition and shows some wear, mostly on the orange flower. The flower painting on the batea is exceptionally fine and detailed. . Beautiful border that is not worn off as seen on so many. The paint colors are bright/ There is a close up imafe of the paint wear on the orange flower, so you can see that it is minor.Wood is sound with no cracks or splits. It measures 13 " across. and is 1 1/2" deep.
