These old trays are carved from one piece ot wood, then an enamel finish is applied and the brightly painted flower designs are added. This one is in good condition and shows fine workmanship. It has light pink flowers, not often seen in the old bateas, plus "Mexico" is painted on the face. The painted border has a worn place on it. The paint colors are bright with just a little wear. Wood is sound with no cracks or splits. It measures 12 3/4" across. and is 2" deep.
