These old trays are carved from one piece ot wood, then an enamel finish is applied and the brightly painted flower designs are added. This one is in good condition and shows fine workmanship. The paint colors are bright although the dark red seems to have turned a little brown. Wood is sound except for defect in the center which resulted in rough place which can be seen on both the front and the back. It does not appear to have affected the tray. The paint over the rough place show some slight wear which is hard to see, it is ont he stem of the two green leaves. It measures 17" wide and 2 1/8" deep.
